Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to cook corn porridge in a slow cooker using water? Prepare your food. Take high-quality cereals, without debris, finely ground — they will boil faster and taste better. You can change the amount of water depending on what kind of porridge you want — thin or thicker. If you use vegetable oil instead of butter, the dish will turn out lean.

Step 2

Step 2
Pour the cereal into a ladle and rinse well under running cool water. Some housewives do not wash corn grits, but in vain — not only dust and dirt are washed away, but also small pieces of the corn grain shell, which give the porridge its hardness. Wash the cereal several times until the water runs clear.

Step 3

Step 3
Pour the cereal into the multicooker bowl. Pour water into it. If you pour water in a ratio of 1:3 (1 part corn grits to 3 parts water), the porridge will turn out thick and viscous. If the ratio is 1:4, then the porridge will come out liquid. I cooked a more liquid version. Add sugar and salt. You can also change their quantity to your liking.

Step 4

Step 4
Place the bowl in the multicooker. Close the lid. Set the cooking mode in which you usually cook cereals and porridges. It may be called differently on different devices. On mine there are two options — Buckwheat and Milk porridge, I chose Milk porridge, since it takes 1 hour to cook — the corn will boil better during this time. The Extinguishing mode is also suitable, set the time to 1 hour. Cook the porridge until the end signal.

Step 5

Step 5
After the signal, open the lid and add oil to the porridge. Stir. If the porridge is a little runny, leave it to stand under the lid in the heating mode for some more time — it will thicken. Then serve the porridge to the table. Bon appetit!
