Creamy Onion Gravy

So delicate, but very simple, from affordable products. Gravy with onions and sour cream will be an excellent addition to cutlets and side dishes of rice, buckwheat, pasta, and potatoes. It can be made for several days at once and stored in the refrigerator. If necessary, all you have to do is reheat it — it tastes better when warm.

Step 1

Step 1
How to make gravy with onions and sour cream? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. You can use sour cream of any fat content. The fattier and thicker the sour cream, the creamier the finished gravy will be.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the onion and rinse in cold water. Then chop the onion. You can cut into half rings or a little smaller. Navigate according to your taste. The finer the onion is chopped, the more uniform the result will be.

Step 3

Step 3
Heat a frying pan until hot and pour a little vegetable oil on it. Add chopped onion. Fry it for a minute to become translucent.

Step 4

Step 4
Then reduce the heat and simmer the onion slowly for another 4-5 minutes. After simmering, the onion will begin to brown slightly.

Step 5

Step 5
Sprinkle flour on the onions and stir. Heat the onion and flour for a minute, stirring constantly.

Step 6

Step 6
Then add the required amount of sour cream.

Step 7

Step 7
Add salt and spices to taste. I add a mixture of ground peppers and some dried basil. You can change the spices to your liking.

Step 8

Step 8
Mix everything and heat it up. Bring the gravy to the desired thickness by adding hot water.

Step 9

Step 9
Simmer over low heat for literally 2-3 minutes and remove the pan from the heat. Keep in mind that the gravy will become a little thicker as it cools.
