Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make onions with tomato paste and carrots in a frying pan? Incredibly simple! First of all, prepare all the necessary products. Choose a bright orange carrot. These are the fruits that are sweet and juicy, which will make the finished dish very rich and tasty.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the carrots and onions. Rinse the vegetables and dry with a kitchen towel to remove excess moisture.

Step 3

Step 3
Cut the onions into thin feathers, and grate the carrots on a grater with large teeth. It is permissible to chop the carrots into thin cubes by hand or use a vegetable cutter for Korean salads. Remember that if you grate the carrots too finely, they will turn into mush in the finished dish.

Step 4

Step 4
Heat a small amount of vegetable or olive oil in a frying pan. Send the carrots to fry. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally for a minute or two. Focus on the fact that the carrots should become a little soft. How to choose a frying pan and oil for frying, read articles on these topics. You will find the links at the end of this recipe.

Step 5

Step 5
Add onion to the pan. Lightly salt. Stirring, fry until the onion turns golden.

Step 6

Step 6
Pour tomato paste, previously diluted with water, into the vegetables. How much water should I use? It all depends on how thick the dish you ultimately want to get. Instead of tomato paste, you can use tomato juice or ketchup. Salt everything to taste, pepper and add a pinch of sugar. At this stage, you can use your favorite dry spices and seasonings.

Step 7

Step 7
Mix everything, cover the pan with a lid and reduce the flame to low. Simmer vegetables in tomato sauce for about 10-15 minutes. During cooking, open the lid a couple of times and stir the contents of the pan. If at the end of cooking there is too much liquid left in the pan, open the lid, increase the heat and evaporate the required amount of tomato sauce.

Step 8

Step 8
Serve stewed onions with carrots and tomato paste hot or cold, garnished with fresh herbs.
