Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake a turkey roll in the oven? Prepare your food. For this recipe, fillet of any part of the bird is suitable; I used breast fillet steaks. Also choose any mushrooms — champignons, forest mushrooms, I have oyster mushrooms.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the onion and cut into half rings. To avoid irritating the mucous membranes of your eyes when cutting onions, rinse the onion and knife with cold water. The cutting board will not absorb the unpleasant onion smell if you rub it with a slice of lemon before cutting.

Step 3

Step 3
Clean the mushrooms from dirt with a wet sponge. Do not wet them too much so that the mushrooms do not absorb a lot of moisture; they may become watery and not tasty. Slice the mushrooms into thin slices.

Step 4

Step 4
Heat a frying pan, pour vegetable oil onto it. Add the onion and fry it over low heat for about 5 minutes. The onion should become transparent. Stir it occasionally.

Step 5

Step 5
Place mushrooms in the pan. Donʼt be alarmed that there are too many of them. During heat treatment, mushrooms lose a lot of volume.

Step 6

Step 6
Fry the mushrooms for 5 minutes, stirring. Then add salt and pepper to them. Stir again and fry for another 5 minutes.

Step 7

Step 7
Wash the fillet and dry well with a paper towel. Cut each piece, making the cut not all the way through, and unfold into a layer. Beat the meat with a hammer. You can cover the piece with cling film to prevent splashes. Salt the fillet on both sides.

Step 8

Step 8
Brush the piece with sour cream on one side.

Step 9

Step 9
Place mushrooms fried with onions on top.

Step 10

Step 10
Carefully roll the fillet into a roll, being careful not to let the filling fall out.

Step 11

Step 11
Wrap the roll in a piece of foil, making deep folds on the sides so that the juice does not spill out during baking. I took a large size foil to make several turns, it’s more reliable. I made other fillet pieces in the same way. The resulting rolls were placed in a fireproof form. If you have a roll from one large piece, then place it on a baking sheet.

Step 12

Step 12
Bake the rolls in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for about one hour. Let the finished rolls cool slightly. It is more convenient to cut them not while they are hot, as they may fall apart. Bon appetit!
