Hearty Tashkent Beef and Radish Salad

Tashkent salad is a hearty and simple Soviet dish. Tashkent salad with radish and beef is not named after the name of the city, as everyone initially thinks, but after the restaurant where this recipe originated. The salad is simple, but not very common, so it attracts gourmets with its unconventional taste. The taste of the salad is distinguished by the sweetness and spiciness of the green radish, the fried onions add softness, and overall the salad is quite filling, but not heavy. This ensures the balance of the ingredients used in it.

Bulb onions 80 g
Vegetable oil 30 ml
Mayonnaise 3 tbsp

How to make Tashkent classic beef salad with radish? To prepare the salad, take the following set of products: green radish, boiled beef, hard-boiled eggs (preferably country eggs with bright yolks), onions, sunflower seeds for frying them and mayonnaise and/or sour cream for dressing, I took mayonnaise.

Peel the green radish and cut into large long strips or thin bars.

Place the prepared radish in a deep bowl and pour in cold water for 10-15 minutes to remove the pungent odor and excess bitterness of the root vegetable.

Cut the boiled beef into the same cubes (any lean boiled meat is acceptable).

Cut the eggs into slices to place on the surface of the salad as a decoration, chop the rest finely and add to the salad.

Place the radish in a sieve and let the water drain completely.

Peel the onion and cut it into half rings, fry the onion in a heated frying pan with oil until transparent.

In a common saucepan, combine all the prepared ingredients: chopped radish, beef, eggs, fried and cooled onions.

Greens are added optionally, this is not a mandatory component. I took dill and parsley, finely chopped them, and added them to the salad.

Mix the salad and season with a mixture of sour cream and mayonnaise or sour cream or mayonnaise before serving. You can serve in portions, garnishing the salad with wedges of herbs and slices of eggs.
