Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make peanuts in sugar? Prepare your food. Any peanut will do — fresh, roasted, shelled or not. If the nuts are raw, it is better to rinse them and then dry them with a paper towel. I took fried with salt, I like the combination of salty and sweet. You will need the same amount of sugar and water.

Step 2

Step 2
Pour sugar into a bowl and pour in the same amount of water. Stir the water with a spoon until the sugar dissolves. You can even leave it for 5 minutes, then it will dissolve even better.

Step 3

Step 3
Place the frying pan on the fire. It is better if it has a thick bottom and a non-stick coating. Add nuts to the pan. Fry them over medium heat until lightly golden if they were raw. If the peanuts are unshelled, then wait until the husks begin to come off, pour them into a plate and peel them. Then return to the pan. Just bring the roasted peanuts to a hot state.

Step 4

Step 4
Pour water and sugar into the pan. It will boil immediately. You don’t need to do anything further — just wait for all the liquid to boil away and the sugar to turn into caramel.

Step 5

Step 5
This will take about 10 to 15 minutes, you can occasionally stir the nuts so that they cook evenly.

Step 6

Step 6
Gradually, the sugar will begin to brown, the nuts will fry, and the whole mass will thicken.

Step 7

Step 7
Once this happens, do not move away from the pan. Make the heat low and stir the nuts constantly. There will come a moment when there is no liquid left at all — all the nuts will be evenly covered with caramel. Turn off the heating at this point. Donʼt be afraid that the caramel will still be liquid. It will cool and harden.

Step 8

Step 8
I made a mistake and left the nuts in the pan to cool. Then I had to reheat it to melt the caramel. It is better to place the hot nuts on a plate greased with vegetable oil. The caramel will harden and you can break it into individual pieces. Store nuts in a sealed container. Bon appetit!
