Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake apples and walnuts in the oven with honey? Prepare your food. Choose firm, large apples, preferably those varieties that do not soften much during heat treatment. Sour varieties will be especially good — Semerenko, Antonovka, Granny Smith.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the apples well and dry. Cut off the top. Using a spoon, scoop out some of the pulp along with the core with seeds, leaving about 1cm thick walls on the sides. You should get “cups” of apples. You can also bake the lids, covering the apples on top, or leave them for compote (along with the removed pulp).

Step 3

Step 3
Prepare the walnuts. I have them already shelled, you can take the nuts in the shell and peel them yourself. To make the nuts more tasty and aromatic, dry them briefly in a dry frying pan. Grind the nuts in any way — with a knife, in a blender or in a mortar. Donʼt crush it too much, leave fairly large pieces.

Step 4

Step 4
Wash and dry the raisins first. You donʼt have to add it at all, depending on your taste. Mix nuts, raisins and honey. Take natural, tasty, high-quality honey. If it is very thick, then warm it up a little in a water bath.

Step 5

Step 5
Stuff the apples with the prepared mixture. Place them in an ovenproof dish. Pour a little water to the bottom, about 1 cm. If you wish, you can sprinkle ground cinnamon on top of the apples. Preheat the oven to 180°C, top-bottom mode.

Step 6

Step 6
Bake the apples for about 30 minutes. The exact time will depend on the features of your oven and the variety of apples. Remove the finished apples from the oven. Serve in any form; they are delicious both warm and chilled. Bon appetit!
