Turkish Meat Burek Pastry

A very tasty pie with oriental notes made from simple ingredients! Fairy tale! Turkish burek (or berek) is a savory cake of all countries formed from the once prosperous Ottoman Empire. It is most often prepared with meat, the dough is puff pastry, phyllo, but there are also variations.

Ingredients (12 portions)

Basic:

Filo dough 400 g

Filling:

Ground beef 450 g
Bulb onions 1.5 pc
Chilli 2 g
Ground black pepper 2 tsp
Sunflower oil 4 tbsp
Salt to taste

Impregnation:

Sunflower oil 4 tbsp
Chicken eggs 2 pc
Yogurt 3 tbsp
Water 125 ml

Crust:

Chicken eggs 1 pc
Yogurt 2 tbsp

Recipe instructions

For the filling, cut the onion into medium-sized cubes and fry it in hot oil until transparent.

Add the ground beef to the onion, mix and fry, stirring, under the lid.

At the end add salt and pepper.

Stir and let cool completely.

To soak the dough, mix eggs with yogurt and add butter. Stir until smooth.

Add water and mix again.

Lubricate the sheet of phyllo dough completely with impregnation, lay out a path of fried minced meat on the edge.

Roll the dough into a roll and then into a snail. Place in the center of a large frying pan or baking dish.

We do this with all the dough and get a big pie.

Mix the egg and yoghurt for the crust, spoon the mixture onto the pie, and then spread it evenly throughout the dough with a brush.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and bake the cake for 40 minutes.
