Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a pie with jam with milk? Very simple and fast. Start by preparing the products according to the list. Use premium flour. You can use regular cowʼs milk or replace it with coconut milk if you want the cake to be lactose-free. You can use any jam you like. I have orange. Instead of jam, you can use thick fruit jam or marmalade.

Step 2

Step 2
Break an egg into a bowl, add sugar and whisk. Adjust the amount of sugar to your taste; you can use less if your jam is already very sweet.

Step 3

Step 3
Pour in milk at room temperature and stir again.

Step 4

Step 4
Add jam and whisk again. A few words about jam. From my experience, when using currant and cherry jam, after adding soda, the dough may take on a gray tint. When using apricot or orange jam, the dough retains a beautiful yellow color.

Step 5

Step 5
Add the flour sifted with soda and mix with a whisk, breaking up all the lumps. You should get a viscous, homogeneous dough. You may need more or less flour, so if you are making the cake for the first time, add flour gradually.

Step 6

Step 6
Pour the dough into a greased baking dish (Ø 22-24 cm). Place the pie in an oven preheated to 180°C and bake for about 50 minutes. Check doneness with a skewer — it should come out dry. If the top is browned but the inside of the pie is not yet ready, cover the pan with foil.

Step 7

Step 7
Cool the finished pie, lightly sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve. Bon appetit!
