Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make oven-baked catfish? Prepare your food. It is best to take chilled, freshly caught fish. You don’t have to take a whole fish: it can be catfish steaks or ready-made catfish fillets. We only need the juice from the lemon, so you can use ready-made lemon juice. If you squeeze juice from a lemon, scald it first — this way the lemon will release more juice. The oil can be any vegetable oil, and ideally sea salt.

Step 2

Step 2
Remove the head and tail from the fish, cut into steaks or fillet. Catfish is not a bony fish, so the fillet usually does not contain bones.

Step 3

Step 3
Grease the heat-resistant form in which you will bake the fish with vegetable oil. Oil can be either olive or simple sunflower.

Step 4

Step 4
Add fish fillets or steaks.

Step 5

Step 5
Salt the fish. Now you can add your favorite spices and seasonings. Allspice, dill and basil are perfect.

Step 6

Step 6
Pour lemon juice over the fish. Catfish is not a very “fragrant” fish, but lemon juice will remove the excess fishy smell.

Step 7

Step 7
Pour sour cream over the fish. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 20-30 minutes. If you want to get a more “ruddy” fish, then simply put the pan in the oven and cook until done. If you are interested in the option of stewing the fish, then cover the baking dish with foil and cook the fish in a closed form.

Step 8
Serve this fish with fresh vegetables and vegetable salads. Bon appetit!
