Ingredients (6 portions)

Basic:

Rice 0.5 cup
Honey (to taste, 1-3 tbsp, can be replaced with any sugar or maple syrup) 2 tbsp
Walnuts 0.5 cup
Raisin 0.5 cup
Almond 0.5 cup
Poppy food 0.5 cup
Dried apricots 0.5 cup

Recipe instructions

Pour boiling water over the poppy seeds and leave for 1-2 hours.

Also pour boiling water over the dried apricots and raisins in one bowl and leave for 1-2 hours.

Drain the water from the dried apricots and raisins, bring the volume to 1.5 cups and pour into a saucepan.

Place washed rice in water.

Cover and cook over low heat until done.

Chop the walnuts (or chop them however you like).

Grind the almonds in a blender (or whatever you prefer).

Cut the dried apricots so that they are the same size as the raisins.

Add honey to the finished rice and stir. There should be some water left in the rice just enough to mix the honey; the excess moisture will evaporate while stirring.

Drain most of the water from the poppy seeds, and beat the poppy seeds with the remaining water in a blender (or grind in a mortar, or pass through a meat grinder).

Place dried apricots with raisins and nuts in one convenient bowl, add poppy seed juice.
