Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make delicious juicy chicken breasts with mustard and honey in the oven? Very simple and fast. To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. You can take chicken breasts with bone and skin or just chicken fillet. Depending on the size of the chicken breasts, there may be 3 or 4. I have large breasts, so there were 3 pieces.

Step 2

Step 2
Add prepared mustard to the liquid honey and stir until smooth. You can use any mustard — Dijon, Russian, or make your own mustard from mustard powder. If your honey is heavily sugared, first melt it in a water bath or in the microwave.

Step 3

Step 3
Wash and dry chicken breasts. If you have a whole bone-in breast, cut it in half. You can leave the skin or cut it off as you prefer. I removed the skin and cut out the bone.

Step 4

Step 4
Sprinkle the chicken with spices, salt and pepper. When using a ready-made spice mixture, be sure to read the ingredients on the package. Often such mixtures already contain salt and pepper, take this into account, otherwise you risk oversalting and peppering the dish. My mixture did not include salt and pepper.

Step 5

Step 5
Pour the honey and mustard mixture over the breasts. Leave the bird to marinate for 20-30 minutes at room temperature. If possible, you can marinate longer, but in the refrigerator.

Step 6

Step 6
Place the chicken breasts in a greased baking dish and top with the honey mustard mixture from the bowl. Place the chicken in an oven preheated to 200°C and bake for about 30 minutes, periodically pouring the juice from the bottom of the pan over the meat. The exact baking time depends on your oven and the size of the breasts. Meat with bones is baked a little longer than fillet. But it is also important not to dry out the bird. Bon appetit!
