Tomatoes 4 pc
Olive oil 3 tbsp
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper to taste
Tomato paste 3 tbsp
Oregano dry 1 tsp

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make classic tomato sauce? Prepare your food. Take ripe, large, tasty tomatoes. Both olive oil and regular vegetable oil are suitable. In addition to oregano, you can take a mixture of Italian herbs or add dried basil to it. Wash and dry the vegetables, peel the onion and garlic.

Step 2

Step 2
Chop the onion as finely as possible — then the sauce will be more homogeneous.

Step 3

Step 3
Also finely chop the garlic cloves.

Step 4

Step 4
Chop the tomatoes in any convenient way. You can spin them in a blender, pass them through a meat grinder, or, as I did, grate them. To do this, cut the tomato into 4 parts, remove the hard attachment point of the stalk. Grate the tomato quarters on a coarse grater without the skin; it will be felt in the sauce. If you chop tomatoes using the first two methods, first remove the skin.

Step 5

Step 5
Heat vegetable oil for frying in a frying pan, I used olive oil. Add chopped onion and garlic. Fry them, stirring, over low heat until transparent. This will take about 5 minutes.

Step 6

Step 6
Add tomato puree, tomato paste, and dry seasonings (oregano, chili) into the pan. Season with salt and pepper.

Step 7

Step 7
Mix the ingredients well. Bring the sauce to a boil over low heat.

Step 8

Step 8
Simmer uncovered until thickened, about 20 minutes. The exact time will depend on the juiciness of your tomatoes. Focus on the desired thickness of the finished product. Just keep in mind that the sauce will become a little thicker as it cools.

Step 9

Step 9
Pour the sauce into a clean, dry container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or in the freezer for 3 months. I made pizza with him. For greater homogeneity, you can use a blender to puree the sauce. Bon appetit!
