Family-Friendly Spanish Vegetable Omelette

From regular products, for breakfast or dinner for the whole family! The classic tortilla is the hallmark of Spanish cuisine. Essentially itʼs just an omelette without milk with vegetables, and the proportion of vegetables usually exceeds the number of eggs. This dish turns out to be more satisfying and nutritious than a regular omelette.

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a classic Spanish tortilla? Prepare your ingredients. Take medium-sized potatoes and larger eggs. If you have small ones, then take more. Wash vegetables and eggs well and dry.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the bell pepper from seeds and cut into small cubes or strips.

Step 3

Step 3
Peel the potatoes and cut into thin circles or half circles if the potatoes are large.

Step 4

Step 4
Break the eggs into a deep bowl. Salt, pepper and beat until smooth. A simple fork will be enough; the tortilla does not need any fluffiness.

Step 5

Step 5
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Place potatoes in it, lightly salt.

Step 6

Step 6
Toss well to coat each potato slice with oil.

Step 7

Step 7
Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the potatoes, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes.

Step 8

Step 8
Place bell peppers and stewed potatoes into beaten eggs.

Step 9

Step 9
Mix everything carefully, trying to keep the potato slices intact.

Step 10

Step 10
Return the resulting mass to the pan and smooth it out. Cook on low for about 5 minutes, using a silicone spatula to loosen the edges of the tortilla from the pan.

Step 11

Step 11
Then cover the pan again and fry the dish for about 2-3 minutes.

Step 12

Step 12
Now you will need to turn the tortilla over to the other side. To do this, remove the lid and place a wide dish on top.

Step 13

Step 13
Holding the dish firmly, invert the pan so the tortilla is on the plate.

Step 14

Step 14
Add a little vegetable oil to the pan and return the tortilla to fry on the other side. Cook it for about 5 more minutes.

Step 15

Step 15
Transfer the finished tortilla to a plate and serve. This is how beautiful it turns out, with a golden crust and interspersed with pieces of bell pepper. Bon appetit!
