Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a classic liver cake from chicken liver with carrots? First, prepare all the necessary ingredients for the filling.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash, peel, rinse with cold water so that it does not sting your eyes when slicing, and chop finely.

Step 3

Step 3
Wash the carrots with a brush, remove the peel with a vegetable peeler or other method convenient for you, and grate on a coarse grater.

Step 4

Step 4
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, add vegetables to it and fry, stirring, until cooked. You can add butter. This will give the filling a richer taste, but this will make the filling higher in calories.

Step 5

Step 5
Prepare all the necessary ingredients for the cakes. Chicken liver can be replaced with any other one. Wash the liver, remove the films.

Step 6

Step 6
Place the liver in a blender bowl and blend thoroughly until smooth.

Step 7

Step 7
Add sour cream, egg, salt to the chopped liver and mix. Then add flour to the resulting mass. And beat everything thoroughly again. The consistency of the dough is similar to pancake dough. If it turns out too thick, then you can pour in a little milk or water, and if it’s liquid, add flour.

Step 8

Step 8
Add vegetable oil to a preheated frying pan and bake the cakes on both sides for 1.5-2 minutes each. I have a frying pan with a diameter of 26 cm. Read about how to choose the ideal frying pan, as well as how to choose the right vegetable oil, in separate articles, links at the end of the recipe.

Step 9

Step 9
Place the finished cakes on a plate and let them cool.

Step 10

Step 10
Wash the garlic, peel it and pass it through a press or grate it on a fine grater.

Step 11

Step 11
Add garlic to mayonnaise and stir. You can make your own mayonnaise. You will find recipes for homemade mayonnaise after the last step.

Step 12

Step 12
Lubricate each layer with mayonnaise and garlic, add 1-2 tablespoons of filling depending on the size of the resulting cakes and carefully level them.

Step 13

Step 13
To decorate, grate hard cheese on a fine grater, divide the tomatoes in half, and divide the parsley into small sprigs. Grease the top crust with mayonnaise, lay out the remaining stewed vegetables, sprinkle with cheese and lay out cherry tomatoes and parsley. You can choose a different way to decorate the cake. Place the cake in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours to soak.

Step 14

Step 14
Liver cake is ready! Bon appetit!
