Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make soy marinade for chicken in the oven? Prepare all the necessary products. Pay special attention to soy sauce. Now there are a lot of cheap versions of this sauce in stores. But don’t go for cheap options, choose naturally fermented soy sauce — this option is much healthier. We only need juice from the lemon, so it is quite possible to use ready-made, factory-produced lemon juice.

Step 2

Step 2
Pour soy sauce into a bowl. Add vegetable oil to it. The oil can be any vegetable oil: from inexpensive sunflower oil to elite olive oil. But since the use of soy sauce-based marinades relates primarily to Chinese dishes, sesame oil would be most appropriate here. Both refined and unrefined oils can be used for marinade.

Step 3

Step 3
Add lemon juice to the bowl. If you, like me, will be squeezing the juice directly from the lemon, wash it well with very hot water first — this will release much more juice from the lemon. In addition, I recommend squeezing the juice through a small sieve so that the lemon seeds do not get into the marinade.

Step 4

Step 4
Peel the garlic, chop it and add it to the bowl. I put the peeled garlic clove through a press, but you can easily grate it on a fine grater, or simply chop it with a sharp knife. If you donʼt have fresh garlic, you can use garlic powder. I am giving you a basic marinade recipe, but everyone has different tastes, so if you wish, you can add some of your favorite additives to it: ground pepper, paprika, ginger, Provençal herbs.

Step 5

Step 5
Mix everything until smooth. The marinade is ready! It is quite versatile, suitable not only for chicken, but also for duck and meat. The time for marinating meat and poultry in this marinade can be from 30 minutes to 1 day. Keep in mind that during the marinating process, meat and poultry may darken slightly. Bon appetit!
