Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make lazy dumplings like in kindergarten? Prepare everything you need. It is important to choose high-quality, fresh cottage cheese. A product of any fat content is suitable, but I like to cook with 5% cottage cheese. You will learn all the subtleties of choosing cottage cheese by reading the article at the end of the recipe.

Step 2

Step 2
Place the cottage cheese in a bowl and mash with sugar and salt using a fork. We take two tablespoons of sugar, but if you want it sweeter, add more. A small pinch of salt is enough, as we only need it to balance the taste.

Step 3

Step 3
Then add a chicken egg to the cottage cheese in a bowl and continue mashing the curd mass with a fork.

Step 4

Step 4
Add flour to the curd mixture and knead the dough. You may need a little less or more flour, as it has different properties. Read more about this in a separate article under the steps. You need to add just enough flour so that the dough does not stick to your hands. It is not advisable to add more flour so that the dumplings do not turn out tough. You can only sprinkle a couple of spoons of flour on the table when making dumplings so that they do not stick to the table.

Step 5

Step 5
Roll the dough into a sausage, which you cut into small pieces of the same size. Then roll each piece into a ball. Do this with all the dough — make lazy dumplings.

Step 6

Step 6
Make a hole in each ball with your finger, dipping your finger in flour. This hole is needed so that butter or sour cream (sauce) will accumulate in it later in the finished lazy dumplings. It tastes better this way!

Step 7

Step 7
Boil water in a saucepan. Place our lazy dumplings in a saucepan in boiling salted water. After the dumplings float to the surface, cook them for just a little bit, literally 2-3 minutes. Remove the dumplings from the water with a slotted spoon and add the butter.

Step 8

Step 8
Serve lazy dumplings with fresh sour cream. They can also be eaten with jam, condensed milk and any sweet sauce. I use fresh strawberries, ground with sugar. Bon appetit!
