Crispy Cinnamon Sour Cream Pretzel Cookies

These pretzels are irresistible! The pretzels are crispy and crumbly, with a slight cinnamon flavor. They are very easy to prepare, the most important thing is to work quickly with the dough so that the butter does not have time to melt, otherwise the finished cookies will end up being very hard. Instead of hazelnuts, you can add walnuts or almonds to the dough. You can make the cookie dough the night before, so you can have homemade cookies ready for breakfast in the morning! If there are not many eaters, then part of the dough can be frozen, it can be stored for up to 3 months and at any time you can please your family with homemade baked goods. Help yourself!

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
Ingredients

Step 2

Step 2
Pour flour, powdered sugar, cinnamon, baking powder and chopped hazelnuts into the bowl of a food processor. Add butter cut into small cubes. With quick movements, grind the mixture into crumbs.

Step 3

Step 3
Add the egg and 1 tbsp. sour cream.

Step 4

Step 4
Knead the dough; if the dough refuses to come together into a lump, add another 1 tbsp. l. sour cream. The dough should be soft.

Step 5

Step 5
We collect the dough into a ball (no need to knead), wrap it in film or simply hide it in a bag and put it in the refrigerator for at least 30-40 minutes, or better yet for 1-2 hours.

Step 6

Step 6
Divide the dough into 3-4 parts. While we are working with one, we keep the rest of the dough in the refrigerator. We work with the dough very quickly so that the butter does not have time to melt from the warmth of your hands! If you suddenly feel that the dough has become too soft, hide it in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes. Roll out a piece of dough into a long rope.

Step 7

Step 7
Cut into pieces 10 cm long (or more or less, depending on what size you want your cookies to be).

Step 8

Step 8
Forming pretzels.

Step 9

Step 9
Place on a baking sheet and place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes (this way, when baking, the cookies will lose their shape less, this is not necessary, but if you want the cookies to turn out neater, it is still better to cool them). Bake in an oven preheated to 190 C for about 10 minutes (depending on size).

Step 10

Step 10
The finished cookies should be slightly browned around the edges.

Step 11

Step 11
If desired, decorate the finished cookies with melted chocolate and serve. Bon appetit!
