How to fry cabbage with an egg in a frying pan? Prepare the necessary products. Young cabbage, from a new harvest, is preferable. But last year’s cabbage will do just fine. Take a larger egg, it is best if it is a homemade egg. Before using, do not forget to check it for freshness: place the egg in a container of water at room temperature. If the egg sinks, then it is fresh, but if the egg floats, then it is not the first freshness and it is better not to use it

Peel the onion and cut it in any convenient way. I cut it into small cubes.

Wash the cabbage, dry it, remove the top 2-3 leaves — they are usually the dirtiest. Cut the cabbage in any way convenient for you. I chopped it into thin strips.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. The oil can be anything: inexpensive sunflower or expensive olive oil, but... We will fry with it, it must be refined so as not to burn in the pan. Add the chopped onion and fry it until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

Add some salt. After a couple of minutes, the cabbage will give up its liquid, become softer and decrease in volume.

Fry the cabbage and onions for about 10-12 minutes. Cabbage should be fried, not stewed. Therefore, the fire must be stronger than average. Fried cabbage is much tastier than stewed cabbage. At this stage, you can add your favorite herbs or seasonings to the cabbage: ground pepper, dried or fresh garlic, herbs de Provence, any greens or herbs.
