Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make mulled wine with orange at home? Prepare your food. Take high-quality, natural wine; the quality of the finished drink will depend on its choice. It can be any wine: from dry to semi-sweet. I prefer dry wines; if suddenly you don’t have enough sweetness, you can always add sugar. I also use whole spices: a cinnamon stick and star anise, but you can also use ground herbs and spices.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the orange well and dry. Cut half of the orange into circles; we will only need the juice from the second half.

Step 3

Step 3
Pour wine into a thick-bottomed saucepan, add star anise and cinnamon. At this stage you can add your favorite spices and seasonings: ginger, cloves, nutmeg, vanilla, mint, sliced apple and lemon.

Step 4

Step 4
Place the sliced orange in the wine and squeeze the juice from the other half into the saucepan.

Step 5

Step 5
Heat the wine over low heat to 90 degrees, but do not bring to a boil. Check for sugar: add it to the wine if necessary. Although mulled wine should not be too sweet. Be sure to strain the finished drink so that no spices or fruits get into it and pour into glasses.

Step 6

Step 6
Serve mulled wine hot — thatʼs the point of this drink — to warm it up! Bon appetit!
