Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to fry mullet in a frying pan? Prepare your food. Wash the fish, remove scales, remove the entrails, and then cut into pieces about 3 cm thick. Remove the head and tail, you can cook fish soup from them.

Step 2

Step 2
Rinse the cut pieces of fish thoroughly again under running water, and then dry very well with paper towels. This is important because excess moisture will prevent the fish from frying until golden brown.

Step 3

Step 3
Salt the fish pieces. You can add spices to taste.

Step 4

Step 4
Sift the flour through a sieve into a flat plate. Bread the fish pieces in flour. I used cornmeal, but you can use wheat flour or breadcrumbs.

Step 5

Step 5
Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat it well over high heat.

Step 6

Step 6
Place the fish pieces in the oil. After this, immediately reduce the heat to medium. Fry the fish pieces on both sides until golden brown. You can cover the pan with a lid, but then the crust on the fish will not be crispy. I usually fry without a lid.

Step 7

Step 7
Remove the finished fish from the pan onto a paper napkin to absorb excess oil. The dish is ready. Serve fried mullet with any side dish, vegetable salad, or as a separate dish, supplemented with herbs. Bon appetit!
