Wheat flour 290 g
Butter 20 g
Water 125 ml
Eggs 1 pc
Dry yeast 5 g

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to knead the dough for a potato pie in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Sift the flour in advance. Thanks to this, it will be saturated with oxygen, and the finished dough will be softer and more elastic. Heat the water to about 40 degrees and pour into a deep bowl. The water should be warm, but not scalding. Pour the yeast and sugar into the water and stir the mixture with a silicone spatula or whisk until the sugar and yeast dissolve.

Step 2

Step 2
Pour salt into a bowl and add egg. The egg can be pre-beaten in a separate container. Mix the mixture until smooth with a fork or whisk.

Step 3

Step 3
Add half of the sifted flour. Start kneading the dough with a spatula or spoon.

Step 4

Step 4
Next, add the remaining flour in parts, kneading the dough each time. You may need a little more or a little less flour than the specified amount, so do not add all the flour at once.

Step 5

Step 5
Melt the butter in a microwave oven or in a water bath. Pour in the cooled melted butter and knead it into the dough. Due to the fact that butter is added at the end, the dough will have a soft structure, and products made from it will not go stale for a long time.

Step 6

Step 6
Transfer the dough to the table and knead it well for 6-8 minutes. so that all the oil is absorbed. I added a little flour twice so that the dough was not sticky. Form the dough into a ball.

Step 7

Step 7
Place the dough in a deep bowl and cover with cling film. I greased the bowl with the rest of the melted butter, but it can also be greased with vegetable oil or lightly sprinkled with flour. Leave the dough for a maximum of 1 hour in a warm, draft-free place. It may take less time to rise — it depends on the yeast and the room temperature.

Step 8

Step 8
As soon as the dough rises well and noticeably increases in volume, immediately begin baking. Prepare the pie filling in advance so that the dough does not ferment. Bon appetit!
