Delicious Meatless Pizza

I didnʼt expect it to be so delicious! Flawless! Despite the minimum ingredients and the absence of meat additives, homemade lean pizza turns out to be very filling and tasty. It is suitable not only for the Lenten table, but also for evening gatherings with family or friends.

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make lean pizza in the oven at home? First, prepare the ingredients for the dough. Pour yeast, sugar, and a couple of tablespoons of wheat flour into a deep bowl. Pour in a glass of warm water. The water should be just warm, but not scalding, otherwise the yeast in it will die. Read about all the intricacies of working with yeast in a separate article (link at the end of the recipe). Mix everything until a homogeneous mixture is obtained and leave for 15 minutes in a warm place.

Step 2

Step 2
Sift the wheat flour to saturate it with oxygen. This will make the dough fluffier and more tender. Pour vegetable oil into the bowl with the yeast mixture and stir. Start adding sifted wheat flour in small portions, stirring the dough each time. Depending on the quality of flour, you may need a little more or a little less. You can read more about flour and its properties in a separate article.

Step 3

Step 3
When the dough becomes difficult to mix with a spatula, turn it out onto a floured work surface and continue kneading the dough with your hands. Knead until the dough stops sticking to your palms. It should turn out elastic, smooth and soft. Place the dough back into the bowl, cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for an hour.

Step 4

Step 4
Meanwhile, prepare the ingredients for the filling. You can use any mushrooms: champignons or wild mushrooms, fried or pickled. I added pickled whites. Fresh mushrooms can be fried with onions. If you use marinated mushrooms, then you can fry grated carrots with finely chopped onions in a frying pan to add a pleasant flavor to the vegetable-fried pizza.

Step 5

Step 5
You can also use vegetables for pizza that you like and have on hand. And I used tomatoes and bell peppers. Wash the tomatoes, cut into circles, small cubes or slices if the tomatoes are small.

Step 6

Step 6
Wash the bell pepper, cut out the seed pod, and cut the flesh into strips. To add a pleasant sourness, you can add a small piece of finely chopped pickled cucumber or olive.

Step 7

Step 7
Punch down the risen dough and proceed to baking the pizza. Roll out the dough into a circle according to the size of the mold. Turn the oven on 180 degrees.

Step 8

Step 8
Grease a baking dish with oil. Read about how to choose a baking dish in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe. Place the pizza in the pan, making small sides.

Step 9

Step 9
Brush the dough with tomato paste or sauce. Place the ingredients prepared for the filling onto the base one by one. Place the pizza in the oven for 20-25 minutes. The exact time depends on your oven. You can learn about the operating features of ovens by reading a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.
