Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make Snake salad? For the salad, you can use any chicken meat, both smoked and boiled. Boil the eggs hard. Salt may not be needed, this is optional. I used Russian cheese, another one with a neutral creamy taste or your favorite would be suitable.

Step 2

Step 2
Prepare the DRESSING. Squeeze the garlic into the mayonnaise through a press and stir well, cover and let it sit in the refrigerator until desired time. If you donʼt like it, you donʼt have to add garlic. It is advisable to prepare mayonnaise at home; if store-bought, take it not very thick.

Step 3

Step 3
Cut the meat, eggs and pineapple into approximately equal small cubes. Grate the cheese finely. Chop the prepared nuts with a knife so that the fragments are smaller than the rest of the products, but not into fine crumbs. Combine everything in a deep bowl and season with garlic mayonnaise. Garlic will only add a slight piquancy; it is not particularly noticeable. This salad can be prepared either in layers or by mixing /faster option/, which is what we will choose.

Step 4

Step 4
Since decoration will take a significant amount of time from cooking, cover the salad and put it in the refrigerator. To decorate, boil quail eggs for 3 — 4 minutes, cool quickly with water. Cut the olives into slices and then in half. Cut the cucumbers into almost transparent circles; it will be more beautiful if you also cut them into halves. For the head, take a very thin gherkin. For the crown you need a piece of raw carrot 1.5 cm high, cut out the core with a sharp knife, then the cloves.

Step 5

Step 5
To serve, take a flat dish, about 30 cm in diameter. Using mayonnaise, apply a dotted outline of the location of the snake’s body.

Step 6

Step 6
Place the salad along the contour, forming a snake. Make the tail thinner, gradually add volume to the body, and last we form the head.

Step 7

Step 7
Coat the entire snake thinly with mayonnaise, using a brush. Start decorating a thinner strip with olives from the tail, then move on to a double strip, drawing a winding “ridge”.

Step 8

Step 8
Apply a cucumber design to the body. On the head we attach eyes from olives, a nose, and complete the cucumber design from gherkins. Place quail eggs in the center, cover the gaps of the plate with lettuce leaves or other greens. Place the crown on your head and attach a tongue made from a thin carrot petal. Place some greenery near your head too. Thatʼs it, the salad is ready for the New Year! Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until serving.
