Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a classic Neptune salad with red caviar, squid and shrimp? From the name it is already clear that it is a seafood salad, namely, made from seafood. To prepare it, I chose shrimp, squid, crab sticks and caviar. I do not indicate salt in the salad; you can optionally add it to the salad ready-made, but here you need to remember that the salad is dressed with mayonnaise, which already contains salt; and that salted red caviar is added to the salad.

Step 2

Step 2
Boil the eggs until tender, cool in cold water. Separate the eggs into white and yolk. Cut the whites: the cutting method is chosen arbitrarily, but so that all products look harmonious. Place the chopped protein in a salad bowl. The remaining yolk can be used to decorate the salad or not used at all (I didn’t use it).

Step 3

Step 3
Remove thawed crab sticks or crab meat from the packaging and cut into small cubes. Add chopped crab sticks to the salad bowl.

Step 4

Step 4
Place the defrosted squid in boiling water and boil it for several minutes (2 — 3 minutes), do not cook it longer, it will become hard. Place the squid in a colander and rinse under cold running water, removing the innards and skin. Cut the cooled and cleaned squid into cubes or using your chosen cutting method. Add it to your salad.

Step 5

Step 5
Boil the shrimp in slightly salted water for a couple of minutes and drain in a colander. If you use unpeeled shrimp, you should clean them: remove the head and tail, remove the shell. If the shrimp are small, then they don’t need to be chopped. My shrimp were large, so I chopped them. You can leave a few whole shrimp to garnish the salad. Add cooked shrimp to salad.

Step 6

Step 6
Add mayonnaise to the salad and mix everything. It is better not to add red caviar to an unseasoned salad, otherwise the eggs may burst when stirred. You can add it to each serving of salad, or decorate the salad with it, or prepare the salad in portioned bowls.

Step 7

Step 7
It is recommended to cool the finished salad before serving. When serving, the salad can be decorated with whole shrimp and red caviar. This salad will become a bright dish on the holiday table menu. You can serve it in portions like mine or in a common dish or in layers in a ring.
