Basic:

Garlic 2 clove
Olive oil 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper to taste
Bulb onions 4 pc
Parmesan 5 g
Dry rosemary 1 tsp
Cream 6 tbsp
Fresh rosemary 4 g

I found this recipe in a German cookbook, from which I learned how to bake onions in the oven. I liked this method for its simplicity. I improved the recipe itself a little. So, letʼs prepare the products according to the list.

Peel and wash the onion and garlic.

Then put the onion in boiling water for 10 minutes so that it becomes a little soft, after which we transfer it to a colander to drain the water and cool.

Cut off the tops of the cooled onion with a sharp knife, then carefully, so as not to damage the outer layer of the onion (preferably using a teaspoon), remove the core. We should get cups consisting of 2-3 outer layers of bulbs

Finely chop the cores and tops of the onion. Finely chop the garlic or mince it using a garlic mince. In a heated frying pan with 1 tbsp. fry the onion, garlic and dry rosemary in olive oil for 2 minutes. If someone doesnʼt like the smell or taste of rosemary, you can replace it with parsley, dill, thyme or any other seasoning.

Add cream, stir and remove from heat.

Stir in grated cheese, add salt and pepper.

Mix everything carefully.

Grease a dish for baking onions with olive oil and place the onion cups in it. Fill the cups with the prepared onion mixture, sprinkle grated cheese on top and decorate with a sprig of rosemary (or other herbs).

Place the onion in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 25 minutes.

We take the finished onion out of the oven, place it on plates, garnish with tomato slices and herbs, and serve hot. The baked onion is ready.
