Cream 150 g

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
The first step is to peel both onions. Cut one onion into rings, and finely chop the second onion.

Step 2

Step 2
Now you need to put a saucepan or a small saucepan on the fire, pour vegetable oil into it, about two hundred milliliters. And when the oil is hot, put the onion in the saucepan, the one that was cut into rings. Deep fry it for a few minutes until golden brown.

Step 3

Step 3
Now you need to make the spaetzle dough. To do this, beat the eggs, a teaspoon of salt and water a little. Then add flour. Mix well. The dough should be smooth and homogeneous.

Step 4

Step 4
Then put a pan of water on the fire and bring to a boil. Once the water has boiled, you can cook the spaetzle. It is very convenient to use a colander for preparing spaetzle. Place some of the dough in a colander and scrape the bottom of the colander with any spatula until all the dough is in the pan. And we do the same with the rest of the dough.

Step 5

Step 5
Cook the spaetzle for five minutes.

Step 6

Step 6
While the spaetzle are cooking, put the frying pan on the fire and pour a little vegetable oil into it. And fry the second onion, which was finely chopped. Fry for a couple of minutes.

Step 7

Step 7
Now add cream and grated cheese to the onion. Stirring constantly, the cheese needs to melt for a minute. Then add a little salt and half a teaspoon of nutmeg (optional).

Step 8

Step 8
When the cheese has melted, place the prepared spaetzle in the pan. Using a slotted spoon. Mix everything well. And fry, stirring constantly for about five minutes.

Step 9

Step 9
Place spaetzle on plates and top with deep-fried onions. In this form, spaetzle can be served as an independent dish. Or cook as a side dish.
