Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make juicy and soft beef stew in a slow cooker with onions? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Any boneless beef pulp suitable for baking or frying is suitable. Rinse the meat under running water and remove tendons and excess fat, if any. Cut the beef into medium-sized portions. There is no need to lubricate the multicooker bowl with anything beforehand. Just put the chopped beef into it.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the onions. I preferred to chop the onion into a medium cube. But you can cut it into thin strips. And if you chop the onion as finely as possible, it will be practically indistinguishable in the finished dish. It is better to use white or yellow onions. Red (or purple) will look less attractive in the finished dish.

Step 3

Step 3
Grate the butter on a coarse grater and transfer it to the multicooker bowl. Instead of using a grater, you can simply use a knife to cut the butter into smaller pieces. Or you can put it in a whole piece. There will be absolutely no difference. The oil can be used either at room temperature or fresh from the refrigerator.

Step 4

Step 4
Itʼs time for seasonings and spices. Salt the meat to taste, add a small bay leaf and ground hot pepper. At this stage, you can add any of your favorite spices or fresh herbs to the dish. If you use a prepared spice mixture, check to see if it contains salt. Take this point into account so as not to oversalt the finished dish.

Step 5

Step 5
Pour filtered water into the multicooker bowl so that it covers the meat, and simmer the beef for about 1-1.5 hours on the “Stew” program. If you have a multicooker-pressure cooker, then 40 minutes at low pressure will be enough. But it’s better to check the instructions, since everyone’s multicooker is different. But even if after the specified time the beef is still a little tough, you can simmer it for another 20 minutes until the meat is completely cooked. Bon appetit!
