Oven-Baked Pork with Oranges and Melted Cheese

Gourmets will love the amazing combination of pork and orange flavors! Very juicy, spicy, aromatic meat with a crust of melted cheese. How delicious it is! This dish is easy and quick to prepare and is eaten just as quickly. If you do not like a slight bitterness in a dish, be especially careful in peeling the orange segments from their membranes (they are the ones that can add unwanted bitterness to the dish). The cooking time is indicated taking into account the time spent on marinating the meat (it is this procedure that takes up the main time for preparing this dish).

Ingredients (9 portions)

Basic:

Olive oil 2 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
Ground black pepper to taste
Oranges 2 pc
Hard cheese (you can take 100 g sausage, 100 g hard) 200 g
Bulb onions 1 pc
Pork 700 g

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
Products for preparing the recipe. In addition to pork and oranges, take onions, ground black pepper, and salt. You can take either hard cheese or a mixture of hard and sausage. In this case, the hard cheese will melt, and the sausage cheese will give the dish a smoky flavor. It’s not worth taking only sausage, without hard meat. This time I took only hard cheese.

Step 2

Step 2
We wash the pork and trim off excess fat (if any). Cut the pork into small pieces. Wash the oranges. One — peel and remove film-partitions, cut into small pieces, choosing seeds from the orange.

Step 3

Step 3
Place pieces of pork in an enamel or glass bowl, add chopped orange, salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4

Step 4
Mix the pork and oranges well. We do this with our hands, crushing the pieces of oranges so that they give juice. Cover the dish with the pork and put it in the refrigerator overnight.

Step 5

Step 5
The next day we continue cooking. Peel the onions and cut them into half rings. Grate the cheese.

Step 6

Step 6
Peel the second remaining orange and separate it into slices. Grease an oven tray with olive oil. In the first layer, distribute onions cut into half rings along the bottom.

Step 7

Step 7
Then we lay out the pieces of pork along with the oranges in which the pork was marinated. After this, place fresh orange slices between the pieces of pork. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

Step 8

Step 8
Distribute the grated cheese over the entire surface of the pork. Cover the baking sheet with pork and oranges with a piece of foil, put it in the oven, reduce the heat to low (for me it’s 100 degrees) and cook the pork for two hours, so it will turn out very soft. About 15 minutes before the end of cooking, remove the foil and brown it over high heat until it turns golden brown.

Step 9

Step 9
Serve the pork in portions, hot. Bon appetit!
