Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake pork in soy sauce in the oven? Prepare your food. For this dish, you can use both pulp with a minimum amount of fat (carb, ham) and fattier parts (neck, shoulder), depending on your preferences. I used carbonade. You can use black, white or a mixture of sesame seeds, or omit it altogether. Sesame does not so much add flavor to the dish as it does a beautiful appearance.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the pork and pat dry with paper towels.

Step 3

Step 3
Prepare all the necessary ingredients for the marinade. Vegetable oil can be used both olive and sunflower. By the way, if you like the taste of natural, aromatic, unrefined, first-press sunflower oil, I recommend using it. There is no need to add salt, since soy sauce is already salty enough, otherwise you can oversalt the pork.

Step 4

Step 4
Peel the onion and finely chop. Instead of a red onion, you can use regular onions, but with a red onion, the marinade will be a little softer in taste.

Step 5

Step 5
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, vegetable oil, pork spices, sugar and ground black pepper. Mix everything thoroughly.

Step 6

Step 6
Add chopped onion and garlic cloves passed through a press.

Step 7

Step 7
Place the meat in a bowl with the sauce and leave to marinate in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours. If it is not possible to marinate all night, then 1-1.5 hours at room temperature is enough.

Step 8

Step 8
Place the pork in a baking dish and pour in the soy-onion marinade. Some of the onion can be spread over the pork piece.

Step 9

Step 9
Cover the pan with foil. Place the pork in an oven preheated to 180°C for 40 minutes. The exact baking time depends on the features of your oven. The main thing is not to dry out the meat. Therefore, if you know that everything bakes in your oven longer than required in recipes, then it is better to keep the pork in foil longer — not 40, but 50 minutes.

Step 10

Step 10
Then remove the foil and bake the meat for about 20 minutes until golden brown, periodically pouring juice from the bottom of the pan over it.

Step 11

Step 11
5 minutes before the end of baking, sprinkle the pork with sesame seeds and return to the oven.

Step 12

Step 12
Remove the finished meat from the mold, transfer to a dish and cut into portions. You can rub the remaining sauce with onion pieces through a sieve, pour into a gravy boat and serve along with the meat. Bon appetit!
