Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make beef with prunes in the oven? Prepare the ingredients. It is better to take young beef, the meat is more tender and tasty, and of course, tenderloin, without tendons. Rinse the meat, ideally leave it in cold water for a couple of hours to soak out the blood. Cut into portions; the smaller the pieces, the faster the dish will cook. Rinse the chopped meat again and place in a colander to drain off excess liquid.

Step 2

Step 2
Meanwhile, prepare other ingredients. Use pitted prunes for this dish. Rinse the berries well, fill a bowl with hot water and leave for 15 minutes to swell a little. Wash the carrots, peel and cut into cubes, strips or circles, as you like, but it’s better to have fewer carrots so that the carrots are soft after cooking. Peel the onions and cut into half rings.

Step 3

Step 3
Place pieces of meat in a dry frying pan with a thick bottom, put on fire and simmer in its own juices for about 10 minutes under the lid. Then remove the lid and let the liquid evaporate completely. By following this order during the cooking process, the beef will turn out especially soft and juicy.

Step 4

Step 4
Only then pour a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil into the pan with the meat. Fry the meat over low heat, stirring occasionally so that it cooks and browns evenly. Cover the pan with a lid and fry the meat for about 10 minutes more.

Step 5

Step 5
Then place the meat in a baking dish greased with vegetable oil.

Step 6

Step 6
Place prunes on top. If the dried fruits are large, then they can be cut into two or four parts.

Step 7

Step 7
In the frying pan where the meat was fried, fry the carrots in the same oil until soft. Place it in the mold with the meat.

Step 8

Step 8
Place the onions in the same frying pan for frying, fry until transparent and also place on the meat.

Step 9

Step 9
Pour water into the mold until it covers the contents. Salt and pepper to taste. Cover the top of the pan with foil. Place the meat in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, and bake for about an hour. Then remove the foil and bake for about 30 minutes. During this time, the liquid should almost completely evaporate.

Step 10
Place the dish on plates and serve. Bon appetit!
