Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make cutlets with milk, bread and minced egg? Prepare the ingredients according to the list. You can use any minced meat: pork, beef, chicken or mixed depending on the desired calorie content of the finished dish. You can purchase minced meat ready-made or grind it yourself using fresh meat in a meat grinder. The second option is better, then you will be confident in the quality of the finished product.

Step 2

Step 2
The bread doesn’t have to be fresh; yesterday’s bread will do. Cut the crusts off the bread, cut the crumb into small pieces, place in a bowl and pour warm milk. It is better to heat the milk so that the bread soaks faster.

Step 3

Step 3
Peel the onions and finely chop with a knife. If you prepare minced meat yourself, you can grind the onion through a meat grinder along with the meat. If desired, you can add a couple of cloves of garlic for flavor, but this is not necessary. The main thing is to add onions, it will give the cutlets not only taste, but also juiciness.

Step 4

Step 4
Add minced meat and chopped onion to a bowl with bread (no need to squeeze the milk out of the crumb).

Step 5

Step 5
Beat in a chicken egg, add salt and ground black pepper to taste. Those who like cutlets with various aromatic flavors can add some seasoning or spices, for example, suneli hops, ground coriander, paprika. Ready-made spice mixtures often contain salt. Take this into account, otherwise you risk oversalting the dish.

Step 6

Step 6
Mix the ingredients thoroughly until the mixture is homogeneous in consistency. It is advisable to beat the minced meat to make the cutlets softer, more tender and fluffy. You can do this during the process of forming the cutlets; it is enough to leave them from hand to hand for a longer time.

Step 7

Step 7
Roll the formed cutlets in wheat flour sprinkled on a plate or in breadcrumbs to obtain a crispy crust. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat it. Read about how to choose the ideal frying pan, as well as how to choose the right vegetable oil in separate articles, links at the end of the recipe.

Step 8

Step 8
Fry the cutlets on both sides until golden brown. Then pour half a glass of water into the pan and reduce the heat to low. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the cutlets for 20-25 minutes. During this time, all the liquid in the pan should evaporate. The exact time depends on the operating characteristics of your stove. Turn off the heat, remove the lid from the pan and let the cutlets dry a little in the pan before serving. Bon appetit!
