Sugar 2 tbsp
Wheat flour (may need a little more) 500 g
Vegetable oil 50 ml
Baking powder (1 sachet) 18 g
Chicken eggs 2 pc
Kefir 200 ml

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
Pour 200 ml of kefir into a bowl (the fat content of kefir does not matter).

Step 2

Step 2
Next, add 2 chicken eggs.

Step 3

Step 3
Add 50 ml of vegetable oil.

Step 4

Step 4
Then add 1 teaspoon of salt.

Step 5

Step 5
Add 2 tablespoons of sugar.

Step 6

Step 6
Mix the ingredients thoroughly.

Step 7

Step 7
Add 1 bag of baking powder (I have 18 grams of baking powder in a bag).

Step 8

Step 8
Sift 500 grams of wheat flour into the mixture. You may need a little more flour than indicated in the recipe.

Step 9

Step 9
Mix the dough. Donʼt flour the dough too much. The dough should be soft and tender. First, you can mix the ingredients with a whisk, and then, when the flour has absorbed most of the liquid, knead with your hands. To prevent the dough from sticking to your hands, you can grease your hands with a small amount of vegetable oil.

Step 10

Step 10
Cover with cling film and leave the dough for 10 minutes.

Step 11

Step 11
Sprinkle your work area with a small amount of flour and place the dough there. Divide the dough into several parts. (I got 8 cakes with a diameter of approximately 18 cm).

Step 12

Step 12
Form balls from pieces of dough. Then roll out each piece of dough into flat cakes 6-7 mm thick.

Step 13

Step 13
We make small cuts in the middle of each cake.

Step 14

Step 14
Fry the flatbreads in well-heated vegetable oil over medium heat.

Step 15

Step 15
Fry until golden brown on both sides. We take the finished cakes out of the frying pan; it is best to place them on a paper kitchen towel. The paper towel will absorb excess oil.

Step 16

Step 16
Lush kefir cakes are ready! Can be served both cold and hot. Bon appetit!!
