Basic:

Salt 0.5 tsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Wheat flour 260 g
Milk 200 ml
Dry yeast 1 tsp

For the top:

Water 1 tsp

Vegetable oil 1 tsp
Flax seeds 1.5 tsp

How to bake cakes from yeast dough in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Take premium or first grade flour. Heat the milk a little; it should be slightly warm. Flax seeds can be replaced with sesame or sunflower seeds.

In a bowl of suitable size, combine the rest (150 ml), milk, salt, sugar (0.5 tsp), mix.

Pour in activated yeast, mix well.

Add sifted flour. I do this through a sieve, thereby sifting it twice. Do not add all the flour at once; you may need less.

Mix the dough first with a spoon. If the dough is quite sticky, add a little more flour while mixing the dough. It is important to monitor the consistency of the dough so that it does not turn out too steep and heavy, otherwise the finished cakes will turn out too dense.

The dough should be soft, pliable, almost non-stick to your hands. Cover the dough with a towel and leave in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours. The rising time for the dough will depend on the ambient temperature as well as the activity of the yeast.

The dough should increase in volume by 2-2.5 times. In the warm season, usually all processes happen faster, so do not forget to monitor the dough so that it does not over-acidify.

Punch down the dough and place it on a table sprinkled with flour. Divide the dough into equal parts depending on the desired size of the cakes.

Mash each piece of dough into a round cake. You can use a rolling pin, but the dough is quite manageable and the cake can be easily formed by hand.
