Basic:

Salt 0.5 tsp
Sugar 2 tbsp
Wheat flour 2.5 cup
Butter 3 tbsp
Milk 1 cup
Chicken eggs 1 pc
Dry yeast 1 tsp

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
Letʼs prepare crumpets with yeast. For this we need the following ingredients: flour, eggs, milk, butter, yeast, sugar, salt. We use dry yeast, but if you can buy lump yeast, it will be even better.

Step 2

Step 2
We will prepare the dough in a quick way, but using dough. Dissolve dry yeast, a tablespoon of sugar and a tablespoon of flour in a bowl of warm milk (heat it in the microwave). Stir thoroughly and place the bowl in a warm place for 15 minutes.

Step 3

Step 3
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a water bath or in the microwave. Let it cool until warm, so as not to “kill” the yeast with the heat.

Step 4

Step 4
In the bowl with the dough, foam and bubbles appear on the surface, which means that the dough is ready. Add warm butter to the dough and mix.

Step 5

Step 5
In another bowl, beat the chicken egg and beat it with salt with a fork, you don’t need to beat until foamy, you want the egg to turn into a homogeneous mass. Pour the egg mixture into the dough and stir. Add sugar.

Step 6

Step 6
Pour the sifted flour into a bowl. Add it in parts, stirring the dough each time. First we do it with a spoon. As the dough becomes stiff, begin to knead it with your hands. It should turn out elastic and stop sticking to the edges of the cup. Cover the cup with the dough with a towel and place it in a warm place for 1 hour.

Step 7

Step 7
After an hour, the dough should double in volume. Divide it into ten identical pieces. We make a ball out of each one.

Step 8

Step 8
Flatten the dough balls by hand into a flat cake. If the dough still sticks to your hands, you can grease your palms with vegetable oil. Place the doughnuts on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil if you plan to bake them in the oven. If the crumpets will be fried in a frying pan, then leave them on the board to rise for 15 minutes.

Step 9

Step 9
When the donuts have increased slightly, bake them in the oven at 180 degrees until golden brown or fry them in a frying pan in well-heated vegetable oil. With the first method of preparing donuts, the baked goods are less calorie and less fatty. The donuts are soft with an airy, porous crumb and a golden-brown crispy crust. Serve with jam, sour cream or honey, if desired, for tea or coffee. Bon appetit!
