Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make homemade boiled condensed milk at home? Prepare the necessary products. Take any milk itself — both store-bought and homemade will do. The higher the fat content of the milk, the higher the calorie content of the condensed milk. You can add more sugar, I’ve seen recipes where they used twice as much milk, but it will be very sweet. Add vanillin to taste, it makes it more flavorful.

Step 2

Step 2
Take a saucepan with a thick bottom and high sides. This is important because the milk will start to run away when boiling. Pour milk into it, add sugar, soda and vanillin. Stir.

Step 3

Step 3
Place the pan with milk on the fire, turn the heat to medium. Bring the milk to a boil. The sugar should dissolve. Foam from the soda will rise on top, do not move away from the stove, the milk may escape. After some time, the foam will calm down and the milk will simply begin to boil.

Step 4

Step 4
Cook the milk, stirring occasionally, for about 20 minutes over medium heat. It will take on a beautiful baked milk color. Then reduce the heat to minimum and continue to boil the milk for an hour.

Step 5

Step 5
Stir the milk all the time to prevent it from burning. Here you will understand why you need a pan with a thick bottom — in a regular one, milk will instantly burn. After twenty minutes of cooking, the milk will darken slightly.

Step 6

Step 6
After another 20 minutes it will take on a slightly caramel color and the level will noticeably decrease.

Step 7

Step 7
Continue cooking, constantly stirring the milk with a spoon. At the end of cooking, the milk will become even darker, it will taste like milk toffee.

Step 8

Step 8
Turn off the heat. Continue stirring the milk without heating for another 5 minutes — this will remove the foam from the milk. Cool it to room temperature. The milk will be liquid. Place the pan with milk in the refrigerator. After cold, the milk will become thicker, pour it into jars and store in the refrigerator. Bon appetit!
