In the summer I was able to visit the Czech Republic, where I was amazed by the delicious and quite simple food with the appetizing name Makovnichki. It is this culinary recipe of Czech cuisine that I will share with you now. Baking lovers will enjoy the fragrant poppy seeds.

Wheat flour 350 g

Egg yolks 1 pc
Powdered sugar 30 g
Vanilla sugar 30 g
Yeast 15 g
Poppy food 120 g
Pork fat 50 g

For dough:

Sugar 70 g
Milk 125 g

For filling:

We begin preparing Makovnichki by kneading the dough.

First, mix the yeast with a small amount of milk, flour and sugar.

Let the dough rise a little.

After this, add flour, sugar, yolk, salt dissolved in the remaining milk, and melted pork fat into the dough.

Knead the resulting mixture into a thick dough. After the dough has become homogeneous, leave it in a warm place for 10-15 minutes.

Prepare the filling by passing the poppy seeds through a meat grinder, mixing with milk and cooking for about 15 minutes.

Add sugar, melted butter, vanilla sugar and cinnamon to the cooled mixture.
