Ingredients (15 portions)

For dough:

Milk 500 g
Dry yeast 11 g
Sugar 5 tbsp
Margarine 100 g
Vegetable oil 3 tbsp
Sour cream 3 tbsp
Wheat flour 900 g
Salt 1 tsp

For filling:

Sugar to taste
Poppy food to taste

For lubrication:

Vegetable oil 3 tbsp
Eggs 1 pc
Butter 30 g

Recipe instructions

Mix margarine, milk, sugar, salt and vegetable oil in a saucepan. Place on low heat. Do not boil. Margarine and sugar should melt.

Pour the melted mixture into a deep container. Add sour cream. Mix.

Add flour (about 2 cups at first) and yeast. Mix. Gradually adding flour, continue kneading the dough. The amount of flour depends on its quality, i.e. You may need more or less than the specified amount. The dough should not stick to your hands. It should be soft and elastic.

Sprinkle the container with flour. Place the dough there and cover with a towel. Place in a warm place to rise.

After about 40-50 minutes, the dough will double in volume. Knead and leave for the second rise.

The dough will rise faster the second time. Letʼs knead and you can start making buns.

Sprinkle the table with flour. Divide the dough into 4 parts.

Take one part and roll it out to a thickness of 0.5 mm. Lightly grease with vegetable oil.

Sprinkle sugar and poppy seeds on top.

Roll the dough into a roll

Cut about 3 cm thick. Pinch one side — this will be the bottom. Straighten the top of the bun

Leave to proof for about 15 minutes. Then place on a greased baking sheet. Brush the buns with beaten egg. Bake in the oven until browned.

Grease the finished buns with butter.
