Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake homemade hamburger buns like McDonaldʼs? Prepare the necessary products. They should be at room temperature. The milk and butter will be heated, but it is better to remove the egg from the refrigerator in advance. If you forgot to do this, then place the egg in warm water for 5 minutes. Instead of honey, I took sugar.

Step 2

Step 2
First of all, melt the butter. I heated it in a saucepan over low heat, you can do this in the microwave. The melted butter should cool to room temperature, so do this about five minutes before you start cooking.

Step 3

Step 3
Take a large bowl, pour two tablespoons of warm water into it and add dry yeast. Stir with a spoon. Leave the yeast for 5 minutes. This is not done to activate them, but to dissolve them. When interacting with water, the yeast became similar to fresh.

Step 4

Step 4
Add melted butter, honey (I used sugar), egg and warm milk to the yeast. Warm it up slightly too, but don’t overdo it. The milk should be warm but not scalding. Milk that is too hot will kill the living yeast. Mix all ingredients with a whisk.

Step 5

Step 5
Start adding flour in portions, sifting it first. Thanks to sifting, the flour will be saturated with air, and the dough will become softer and more airy. After each portion of flour, stir it with a whisk. At the very end, add salt to the dough.

Step 6

Step 6
The more flour there is, the more difficult it will become to stir. Therefore, start kneading the dough with a mixer or your hands.

Step 7

Step 7
I took a mixer with dough attachments. The dough is very pliable, it quickly became smooth and elastic and began to peel off the walls.

Step 8

Step 8
When the dough finally comes together into a ball, stop kneading.

Step 9

Step 9
Grease a bowl with vegetable oil and place the dough in it. Cover the bowl with a towel and put it in a warm place for one and a half to two hours. I put the bowl of dough in a non-working oven, there are no drafts and the dough rises well.

Step 10

Step 10
In two hours the dough will approximately double in size.

Step 11

Step 11
Turn the dough out onto a floured work surface. Mix it in lightly. Divide the dough into 12 equal parts. Make a round piece from each piece. To do this, fold the edges towards the center, as if gathering the dough into a knot, turn it over with the seam down and roll it with your hand, forming a ball.

Step 12

Step 12
Take a baking tray and line it with baking paper. I use a Teflon mat. Place the buns on a baking sheet, leaving plenty of space between them. My baking tray is 30*40 cm in size, 6 buns fit on it. I placed others on a small baking sheet and they stuck together while baking. It is better to bake in large batches. Cover the baking sheet with a towel and leave the buns to proof for another hour.

Step 13

Step 13
In an hour the buns will grow in size. Take an egg and beat it lightly with a fork. Brush each bun with beaten egg using a pastry brush. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Step 14

Step 14
Bake the buns in the oven, preheated to 200°C, top-bottom mode, for 15-18 minutes. They should become rosy. Remove the first baking sheet and immediately bake the second. Cool the finished buns and use as intended. Bon appetit!
