Festive Rooster Cake Recipe

Prepare a beautiful and original cake for the holiday table! I propose to decorate the New Yearʼs table with an original-looking cake in the shape of a Rooster — the symbol of 2017. Decorating it will not be difficult; on the contrary, it will bring pleasure and pleasant emotions. The process will especially delight little confectioners. If you canʼt find almond petals, you can always replace them with coconut flakes ;)

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
We bake the cakes in advance in a small tin. Or we take ready-made ones and cut them to the required diameter. Prepare the cream: mix powdered sugar with vanilla, add soft butter to the mixture, pour milk at room temperature. Beat the future cream until smooth at the lowest mixer speed. Coat the inside of the cakes with the resulting butter cream. We stack the cakes on top of each other, stick a skewer in for strength and cut off the excess.

Step 2

Step 2
We thickly cover the entire surface of the cake with cream. Sprinkle the cake with almond petals.

Step 3

Step 3
Roll out the mastic. Using a flower-shaped cutter, cut out the future scallop from a red layer, cut the workpiece in half and connect it with water — we put two toothpicks between the two layers of the scallop. The scallop is ready. Using a smaller flower shape, we cut out the cockerelʼs beard.

Step 4

Step 4
We form a beak from orange mastic. We fasten it with water. We collect the beak and beard with a toothpick.

Step 5

Step 5
Place the scallop on top of the cake.

Step 6

Step 6
The raisins (or coffee beans) will be the cockerelʼs eyes. Attach the beard and beak. The cake is decorated! We put it in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours, after which the cake in the form of a symbol of the coming year can be served.
