Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make ham and cheese puffs from puff pastry? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Puff pastry can be either yeast or yeast-free. I have yeast-free. Remove the dough from the freezer ahead of time and leave it at room temperature to warm and thaw. Choose cheese to your taste, the main thing is that it melts well. I have mozzarella. Separate the yolk from the white. You will need it to lubricate the puff pastries.

Step 2

Step 2
Roll out a layer of defrosted puff pastry a little on a table sprinkled with a pinch of flour. Cut the dough into 6 squares. Place a slice of ham and cheese on each square. If you roll out the dough very thin, you can get 8 squares. You can make puff pastry yourself. There is a link to homemade puff pastry recipes below the steps.

Step 3

Step 3
Connect the corners of each square in the center and pinch the edges to form an envelope.

Step 4

Step 4
Line a baking tray with baking parchment. Place the prepared puff pastries on a baking sheet, brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with a little sesame or poppy seeds. Thanks to the yolk, the puff pastries will brown appetizingly. Place the baking sheet in the oven, preheated to 190 degrees for about 20 minutes. Your baking time may be different, check your oven. Read more about ovens in the article on this topic. Link at the end of the recipe.

Step 5

Step 5
The finished ham and cheese puffs will increase slightly in size and become golden brown. Some cheese may leak out. Remove the puff pastries from the oven, cool slightly and enjoy. Bon appetit!
