Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to fry tortillas in water with an egg in a frying pan? Very simple and fast. To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. Take the highest grade flour. Any vegetable oil suitable for frying will do. I have refined sunflower.

Step 2

Step 2
In a bowl, combine the egg, room temperature water and salt. Mix everything thoroughly with a whisk until smooth.

Step 3

Step 3
Add the sifted flour little by little. Knead elastic dough.

Step 4

Step 4
At first the dough will be very sticky to your hands, but as you knead it will become less sticky and more elastic. If the dough turns out a bit runny (which is unlikely), you can add a little more flour, but keep in mind that too much flour will make the finished products hard and very dense. And this must be avoided.

Step 5

Step 5
Add 1 tbsp to the dough. l. vegetable oil and knead well again. Gradually the dough will become soft, elastic and stop sticking to your hands.

Step 6

Step 6
Roll the dough into a ball, wrap it in a bag and let rest for 15 minutes at room temperature.

Step 7

Step 7
Divide the dough into 6-8 equal pieces.

Step 8

Step 8
Roll out each piece on a floured table into a thin round cake with a diameter no larger than the diameter of the bottom of your frying pan. If you are rolling out on a floured surface, shake the flour off the dough before frying to prevent it from burning.

Step 9

Step 9
Fry the flatbreads in a preheated frying pan (I use setting 7 out of 9) in vegetable oil on both sides until golden brown.

Step 10

Step 10
They fry very quickly, literally 30-40 seconds on each side. Even faster than pancakes. In the process, they increase in volume and become airy.

Step 11

Step 11
Place the finished flatbreads on top of each other and serve. Bon appetit!
