Mannik can be baked using only semolina, then the manna will be more tender and crumbly, or you can use semolina and wheat flour in equal parts, the manna will taste more dense. You can use additives such as candied fruits, dried fruits, nuts, berries, pieces of fruit and others to taste.

Place the butter in a bowl and melt it in a water bath or in the microwave. Let the melted butter cool to room temperature.

Add sugar and a pinch of salt to the bowl with butter. Stir the ingredients until the sugar cools completely. You can add sugar and salt to the butter while the butter is warm, then the former will dissolve faster.

Pour the sour milk into another bowl; it should be at room temperature. Pour in the semolina, mix and leave at room temperature for an hour so that the semolina swells well.

In the third bowl, beat the chicken egg with a fork or whisk until the white of the chicken egg is completely dispersed. Pour melted butter and egg mixture into a bowl with semolina. Mix.

Bake the manna for about 30 minutes. You can check the readiness of the manna with a wooden skewer. It should come out dry.
