Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake puff pastries with sugar in the oven? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Buy puff pastry in the store, but it is better to take the dough in plates — they are easier to cut and faster to defrost or prepare yourself. At the end of the recipe you will find a link to homemade puff pastry recipes. If you have store-bought dough, take it out of the freezer and let it defrost.

Step 2

Step 2
Roll out the dough into a rectangular layer no more than 5 mm thick. If the dough is ready in plates, then you don’t need to roll it out too much. Cut the dough into equal rectangles or squares.

Step 3

Step 3
Sprinkle the puffs evenly with sugar. Transfer the dough pieces onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 4

Step 4
Leave the puff pastries to rise for 10-15 minutes. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 20 minutes until a golden crust appears on the surface of the dough. Do not open the oven while baking. Time and temperature are approximate, use your equipment as a guide. Read more about ovens in the article at the end of this recipe.

Step 5

Step 5
Remove the finished yeast-free puff pastry puffs from the oven, cool slightly, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve along with aromatic hot tea, coffee or cocoa. Bon appetit!
