Milk 180 ml
Vanillin to taste
Eggs 3 pc
Baking powder 1.5 tsp

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a simple pie in the oven with milk? Prepare your food. Take milk of any fat content. The oil is high-quality, natural, without vegetable additives. The eggs are large, take them out of the refrigerator in advance — a sponge cake made from warm ingredients will rise better.

Step 2

Step 2
Sift the flour into a separate bowl, add baking powder and salt. Salt in sweet baked goods acts as a flavor enhancer, so don’t skip it. Stir dry ingredients.

Step 3

Step 3
Place butter in a thick-bottomed saucepan, pour in milk, add vanillin (or vanilla sugar). Place the saucepan over low heat and bring almost to a boil. As soon as the first bubbles appear, immediately remove from the heat — there is no need to boil the milk.

Step 4

Step 4
Beat the eggs into a bowl. Be sure to wash your eggs before using them, as even seemingly clean shells can harbor harmful bacteria. It is best to use food grade detergents and a brush. Start beating them at low mixer speed. Gradually increase the speed while adding sugar to the eggs in small portions. Beat eggs with sugar until fluffy and light, it should increase in volume by 3-4 times.

Step 5

Step 5
Pour half the flour into the egg mixture and mix it at low mixer speed. Then pour in half the hot milk. And mix again with a mixer until smooth.

Step 6

Step 6
Then add the remaining half of the flour, followed by the milk.

Step 7

Step 7
Finally stir everything until completely homogeneous. The dough turns out quite liquid, which is how it should be.

Step 8

Step 8
Take a suitable baking dish. I have a ring 20cm in diameter, I made the bottom from foil. But any arbitrary shape will do. Line the pan with parchment or grease with a drop of vegetable oil. In my version, with the ring, you don’t need to do anything. Pour the dough into the mold.

Step 9

Step 9
Bake the pie in the oven, preheated to 180°C, for 35-45 minutes. The exact time will depend on your oven and pan size. Check doneness with a wooden skewer — it will come out dry from the center.

Step 10

Step 10
Release the cooled cake from the mold and serve, sprinkled with powdered sugar. You can cut it into cakes and layer it with any cream. Bon appetit!
