Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make fish in puff pastry baked in the oven? Prepare your food. Take any fish, both white and red will do. You can take a ready-made fillet, or you can buy a whole fish and cut it yourself. I have cod fillet. Take ready-made puff yeast dough. If you wish, you can, of course, make it yourself. Thaw frozen food by transferring it from the freezer to the refrigerator. It is better to do this in advance so that the process goes smoothly.

Step 2

Step 2
Turn the oven on 180 degrees. Cut the fish fillet, previously defrosted, into portions. Wash and dry it. Salt and pepper, you can also sprinkle with fish spices. Sprinkle the pieces with lemon juice — it will give the fish a pleasant aroma and fight off the unpleasant fishy smell. Leave the fillets to marinate for 30 minutes.

Step 3

Step 3
While the fish is marinating, prepare other foods. Finely chop the greens (I used dill) with a knife. Add greens to curd cheese, stir.

Step 4

Step 4
Roll out the dough on a table sprinkled with flour into a thin layer. Cut it into squares approximately 10*10cm in size.

Step 5

Step 5
Place pieces of fish in the center of two squares. Grease them with cream cheese.

Step 6

Step 6
Cover the dough with fish with loose pieces. Pinch the edges in any way, it is very convenient to do this with a fork. Since the dough is usually sold in two sheets, I got 4 pies — two from one sheet, two from the other.

Step 7

Step 7
Take a baking sheet and cover it with parchment. Place the pies on it. Make slits in the center to prevent the dough from puffing up while baking. You can simply pierce it with a fork. Brush the top of the pies with egg yolk mixed with water. Sprinkle them with sesame seeds.

Step 8

Step 8
Bake the fish in the dough in the oven, preheated to 180°C, until golden brown. It took me 20 minutes, it may take you longer. This will depend on the features of your oven. You can read about different types of parchment, as well as learn about the operating features of ovens, by reading separate articles and links at the end of the recipe.

Step 9

Step 9
Serve the finished pies to the table. Bon appetit!
