Chicken hearts 400 g
Ready-made puff pastry dough 500 g

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make liver pies in the oven? Prepare the products according to the list. If necessary, defrost the liver in advance on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. Wash the chicken liver and remove blood clots, light flagella — bile ducts and gall bladders, if any.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the defrosted chicken hearts. They also need preliminary preparation. I usually trim away excess fat from the outside and remove large arteries. Next, I cut the hearts in half and remove the blood clots inside.

Step 3

Step 3
Place the chicken liver in a saucepan with cold water. During cooking, use a slotted spoon to remove any foam that forms on the surface. The liver cooks very quickly. After boiling, it will be ready in 10-15 minutes.

Step 4

Step 4
Place chicken hearts in a clean saucepan with cold water. After boiling, they will also be ready in 15-20 minutes.

Step 5

Step 5
Peel the onion, wash, dry, chop and fry in a frying pan in sunflower oil until golden brown.

Step 6

Step 6
While the onion is frying, there is time to prepare the minced meat. Pass chicken hearts and liver through a meat grinder. You can use a blender for this purpose.

Step 7

Step 7
Add the fried onion to the bowl with the minced meat. Separate the egg white from the yolk. Cover the yolk and set aside for a while. Add raw protein to the minced meat. Add salt to taste. Mix thoroughly.

Step 8

Step 8
Roll out the finished puff pastry dough thinly. Using a knife, cut it into squares with a side of 5 centimeters. Place the liver filling in the center. I put out a heaping teaspoon at a time.

Step 9

Step 9
Pinch the edges of the pies into a triangle. And press lightly with the tines of a fork so that the seam sticks together better and looks beautiful. Add half a teaspoon of boiled water to the previously set aside yolk and stir until smooth. This will make it easier to use the yolk for lubrication.

Step 10

Step 10
Using a pastry brush, brush the tops of the pies with the egg mixture. And sprinkle the pies with sesame seeds. Bake the pies in an oven preheated to approximately 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until the dough is ready and the pies are browned. Focus on the features of your oven.
