Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake chicken in the oven with chicken? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Boil the chicken fillet in advance and cool. You can cut the fillet into small pieces so that it cooks faster.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the potatoes, peel them, put them in a saucepan, cover with cold water and put on fire. Add a pinch of salt. Boil potatoes, unlike chicken fillet, until half cooked for 10-12 minutes. The exact time depends on the type of potato and the power of your stove. Turn off the heat when the potatoes are still a little firm. Drain the water and cool the potatoes.

Step 3

Step 3
While the chicken and potatoes cook, prepare the pie dough. The dough will be yeast-free, margarine-based. Remove the margarine from the refrigerator in advance so that it softens at room temperature. You can also melt margarine in the microwave at the lowest power or in defrost mode. In this case, you need to wait for it to cool down. Grind the margarine with a pinch of salt.

Step 4

Step 4
Beat a chicken egg into a bowl with margarine and mix.

Step 5

Step 5
Add sifted wheat flour combined with baking powder. Add flour in small portions, stirring the mixture with a spoon. When the dough begins to come together, place it on a floured work surface and continue kneading with your hands.

Step 6

Step 6
You should get a smooth, soft dough. You donʼt need to add too much flour so that the dough doesnʼt turn out tight. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for an hour.

Step 7

Step 7
Cut the cooled potatoes into slices. Cut the chicken meat into small cubes. Peel the onions and finely chop with a knife. To prevent the onion from stinging your eyes when slicing, rinse it and the knife with cold water.

Step 8

Step 8
Turn the oven on 180 degrees. Divide the “rested” dough into two parts. Roll each of them into a layer the size of the pie pan. Place one piece of dough into a greased pan.

Step 9

Step 9
Brush the dough with melted butter. Layer potatoes, chicken and onions on top. Add salt and ground black pepper to taste.

Step 10

Step 10
Cover the pie with a second layer of dough and seal the edges. Make a small hole in the center to allow steam to escape while the cake bakes. Brush the pie with beaten egg yolk. Bake kurnik with chicken and potatoes in the oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes. The exact time depends on your oven. Remove the chicken from the oven and serve. Bon appetit!
