Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to cook potatoes with meatballs in a cauldron over a fire? Prepare all the products listed in the recipe. You can use minced chicken, pork, beef, or mix several types of meat. The set of vegetables may vary depending on your taste preferences. I took a standard set of vegetables, which almost any housewife can find.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the potatoes, onions, garlic and carrots. Remove the core and seeds from the bell pepper. Rinse all vegetables. Cover the potatoes with cold water to prevent them from darkening.

Step 3

Step 3
Chop one onion into small cubes. Add the onion to the minced meat, add salt and your favorite seasonings to taste. I usually use garlic powder, dried basil and a ready-made meat mixture. Mix everything thoroughly.

Step 4

Step 4
Cut the remaining onion into large squares, carrots into thin cubes, and pepper into strips or cubes.

Step 5

Step 5
Mix the minced meat again and form into medium-sized meatballs (about the size of a child’s fist).

Step 6

Step 6
Remove the skins from the tomatoes first if desired. Cut the tomatoes into thin slices. Chop the garlic as desired.

Step 7

Step 7
Place a cauldron, pour vegetable oil into it and heat well over high heat.

Step 8

Step 8
Send the peppers, onions and carrots to fry. Cook, stirring, until the onion is golden brown.

Step 9

Step 9
Place the coarsely chopped potatoes and meatballs into the cauldron.

Step 10

Step 10
Top with tomatoes, garlic and bay leaf. Sprinkle with your favorite spices and salt to taste.

Step 11

Step 11
This dish is unique in that you can make the first or second dish out of it. I was preparing a thick soup. Therefore, fill everything with water so that it covers the meatballs almost to the top. In general, the amount of water can be any, depending on how thick you want the soup or sauce to be if you cook the second one.

Step 12

Step 12
Bring everything to a boil over high heat, then reduce the flame and simmer the soup under the lid until all the ingredients are cooked (I cooked for about 40-50). Sprinkle the finished dish with finely chopped herbs.

Step 13

Step 13
Leave the cauldron open and extinguish the flame. Let the soup sit like this for 10-15 minutes so that it absorbs the aromas of the fire.

Step 14

Step 14
Thick soup with meatballs and potatoes is ready!

Step 15

Step 15
Serve it sprinkled with ground black pepper.

Step 16

Step 16
This dish can be served as a second hot course by scooping out the meatballs, potatoes and vegetables with a slotted spoon, and pouring the aromatic broth separately into a bowl.
