Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make red lentil soup with meat broth? Very simple! Prepare all products according to the list. If you have ready-made broth, you can cook the soup in 20 minutes. It is better to use red lentils for this recipe.

Step 2

Step 2
Rinse a piece of meat (I used beef) and fill it with cold water. Place the pan over high heat and bring to a boil. Remove the resulting foam, reduce the heat to low and cook until the meat is cooked. Open the lid slightly to allow steam to escape. The article on saucepans, link at the end of the recipe, will help you choose the ideal pan.

Step 3

Step 3
At this time, peel the onions and carrots and rinse. Remove the seed box from the bell pepper. Cut the vegetables into small cubes or thin strips (as you prefer). I also used a small parsnip root for frying. It complements soups perfectly. Pour vegetable oil into the frying pan. Place the chopped vegetables in a frying pan and fry over moderate heat until the onion is transparent. Donʼt forget to mix everything sometimes.

Step 4

Step 4
Rinse the tomato and cut into cubes. If desired, remove the peel from the tomato first (I usually don’t do this). Place the tomato in the pan and fry everything together for about another minute or two. Instead of a fresh tomato, it is permissible to take tomatoes in their own juice or a spoonful of tomato paste.

Step 5

Step 5
Peel the potatoes and cut into cubes or squares. Rinse the lentils in cold water.

Step 6

Step 6
Remove the cooked meat from the broth onto a separate plate. Place the potatoes and bay leaf into the pan. Cook for about 10 minutes.

Step 7

Step 7
Cut the slightly cooled meat into small pieces. Add the beef and red lentils to the pan. Cook until all ingredients are ready. It took me about 10 minutes.

Step 8

Step 8
Salt everything to taste, add your favorite spices (I used a pinch of red paprika) and add the fried vegetables to the pan.

Step 9

Step 9
Cook over low heat for another 2-3 minutes. At the end, add chopped garlic and finely chopped herbs. After boiling again, turn off the stove and let the soup sit under the lid for 5-10 minutes.
